Automated Telephony System

Introduction:

Our automated telephony system (TIDS) is a computerized and SR based telephone operator, which successfully puts our world leading SR technology into telephony applications. This system can automatically transfer phone calls to the wanted persons, with no need of human operator. When a call comes in, all what the caller needs to do is just speaking to the system the name of a wanted person, the system will then instantly recognize the wanted person and connect the extension phone through. This system is an ideal choice for those using operator-assisted phone service.

Features:

Caller just speaks the wanted's name into the system and the computer will fulfill the connection task, no need to remember the wanted's extension number. This can thus lighten workload of operator or even totally replace operator.

Keep the original phone system unchanged, caller can still use regular way to dial an extension number if available.

Easy setup and operating. All what needs to do is to enter employees' names and connected the system with one or few phone lines, the system works right away.

The system contains a concise Chinese TTS, which can automatically create necessary voice hint required by the system.

Voice bargains. Caller can speak to the system anytime during the voice hint, no need to wait until the voice hint ended.

Caller's confirmation on a recognized name before the system connects the call to the relative extension phone.

Keyword priority: The system can set one or more particular keywords, under each keyword, there is a pre-recorded message file, when a caller speaks a keyword, the system will say out the relative pre-recorded message file. For example. If we set company introduction as a keyword, when a caller says company introduction, the system will then broadcast the message about the company, and the system will continue to ask the caller next question when the previous message is over.

Performance:

A regular pc can support 8 to 24 phone line. Generally, a company with 200 employees or less, a 4 phone line system can fulfill the task, under normal circumstance.

The system basically recognizes standard Chinese (Pu Tong Hua), and a slight accent won't effect its recognition accuracy.

With no more than 1000 names, the recognition accuracy rates over 95%.

Confidence measure, which can lower error rate. If a caller speaks a name or keyword which are not registered in the system, the system will then check it out and refuse to accept that type of calls.

Equipments needed for the TIDS operation: One PC and Telephone card.

PC or Server:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent, 1.6GHZ or higher

Main memory: 256Mb or higher;

Operating system(OS): Windows 2000 or equivalent OS.

Telephone card and driver: Intel Dialogic or equivalent card (for example: D41/EPCI,D12/1PCI, etc.)

As shown in fig1, which is an typical application case, TIDS can be connected with an existing telephone system via one or more phone lines. Our future TIDS version can also support E1/T1 digital service. TIDS can function as a human operator, connecting calls by itself, and can also function as an additional service choice by giving the system an extension number, callers just dial this extension number in order to get SR service, in this case, of course, necessary voice hint is required to be pre-set in the system.


Under normal situation, callers won't feel any inconvenience while using our TIDS system, the only difference callers may experience is that the TIDS system may turn the caller to human operator after it failed to recognize a name for a pre-set time limit.
